So someone told me I needed to start Blogging. I thought, hey, why not, everyone else does, why not me? So, here goes. We start with something dear to my heart:
StarCraft!

You know, after 12 years, I really was thinking that StarCraft 2 was a myth like chewpacabra and Duke Nukem Forever, but it’s here, on my computer in all it’s glory. Hell, I even bought the special edition, but really, that was for one special reason…the Flash drive. It came pre-loaded with the original game and expansion. So you might ask, what so special about that? Well it is when you’ve bought the same damn game 4 times over the years cause you keep losing the CD sleeve with the code on it. The next question isn’t why do you keep losing the sleeves (I’m just really disorganized, so frag off) it’s is Starcraft really that good of a game that you’d buy it 4 times? Well, yeah, but there’s more to it then that. Yeah, it won game of the year ( 12years ago) and it’s like the national sport of Korea, but to be honest, it hold a really special place in my heart.
Starcraft was introduced to me by my buddy Fred. I remember going over his place one day and seeing him playing what to me at the time was Sim City in hell. It was memorizing, just watching the game go, the story, and later, the online play. I was hooked. We played that game night and day. We ate slept and shit Starcraft. I don’t care if it was 1am, we were still playing. It was great, Me, Fred and Adam, and I think Geno, yeah he had it too. Shit, I loved Protos Carriers. I would bunker down with Dragoons and cannons and just build carriers. And even after we got hooked on Everquest, WoW, and shit like that there was always Starcraft to break up the monotony. It was an amazing and important time and it meant the world to me.
Fred, Adam and I have since parted ways for reasons I can’t even remember. It’s funny how after years of being inseparable, people just disappear so easily. I really miss those carefree days of D+D, Slurpees, and Craft. So every once and a while I like to load up the old game and go back there, if only for a little bit. So, yeah, 30 bucks every couple of years was a small price to pay. God I miss it. But, things change, people change, the world keeps turning. It sucks, but every once and a while, a good 4v4 can bring back something special.
